Ola Bakare, Esq. is the Company Secretary/ Head of Legal Services at Lotus Bank Limited. He is a dispute resolution specialist turned corporate counsel, with specialization in non-interest banking law and practice. He had risen over a decade and half to becoming a banking and finance law expert. He is the first legal practitioner in the Sub Saharan Africa to be awarded the qualification of Chartered Islamic Finance Professional by the prestigious INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
Ola bagged his Master of Laws degree at the University of South Wales, UK and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Islamic Finance Arbitration at the International Islamic University Malaysia.

He is an Arbitrator, Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance, Chartered Anti-Money Laundering Consultant and a Certified Corporate Compliance Specialist. Ola is the first and pioneer Secretary-General of the Non-Interest Financial Institutions Association of Nigeria and the founder of the Regional Centre for Non-Interest Finance Dispute Resolution.
 
Ola is an international speaker on the subject of law and Islamic finance; having been honoured with invitations in the African, Asian and European continents, including the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow.

In addition to his membership of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ola Bakare is a member of International Chambers of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum; member of ICDR Young and International; member of American Finance Association; Young Member of International Council for Commercial Arbitration, Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (Malaysia). He is also an Associate Fellow, Society for Advanced Legal Studies (University of London); Fellow, Institute of Management Consultant (Nigeria); and Fellow, Global Academy of Finance and Management (USA).
